A few updates, reminders and other tidbits :)

Reminders and Announcements
  • Open house is this Thursday with the first classroom session starting at 6pm (the second session will begin at 6:45) We will meet in our classroom. I will go over lots of good information so come with any questions you might have (we have 45 minutes, lets make the most of it!)
  • Please check your child's red folder every night. It is to return to school with them the next day.
  • Community snack has begun! Thank you Maggie and family for bringing snack for all our friends today! Now that community snack has begun, please do not send your child with their own individual snack unless your child has a certain situation in which they cannot share snack with us. This is a great time to build a classroom community and the boys and girls look forward to sharing the snack they have brought with their friends. Thank you!!
  • Please sign up for remind if you have not already. https://www.remind.com/join/pauleys
What are we learning this week in our classroom???
Reading: We are learning all about parts of a book and making a prediction. We are also getting Daily 5 up and running in our classroom. Keep checking back for updates!
Writing: We are learning how to use all our Writer's Workshop materials and we are working on drawing simple stories
Math: We are learning all about numbers!
Science: We will begin to talk about our 5 senses
Social Studies: We are learning how to be a good citizen in our classroom, school and community

What a sweet bunch of kindergarteners I have been blessed with this year! I am so impressed already with all they know and are excited about learning. Thank you for being a large part in your child's education at home. Don't forget to ask them about their day. It's a long one and sometimes all we can remember are what we ate for lunch and who we played with outside. :) There is so much more to our day then that!!  I try to keep this blog updated as much as possible so you can use it to guide your discussions at home when you ask THE questions " How was your day? What did you do?". :)

See you Thursday!
